Petrol, Diesel Prices Stay At Record Highs On June 23: Check Rates

Many states' fuel prices are increasing, with petrol currently costing more than RS100 per litre. Petrol is currently being sold for more than Rs 100 in seven states and union territories.

According to a price announcement from state-owned fuel merchants, gasoline and diesel prices remained steady on June 23 after reaching fresh record highs the day before.

With the boost on June 22, the 28th in seven weeks, the petrol price in Mumbai reached an all-time high of Rs 103.63 per litre, while diesel was priced at Rs 95.72 per litre. In the four metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, the price of petrol and diesel has remained unchanged.

On May 29, the city became the first metro in the country to sell petrol for more than Rs 100 per litre.

DELHI - Petrol price was at Rs 97.50
Diesel Price was at Rs 88.23.

MUMBAI - Petrol price was at Rs 103.63
Diesel Price was at Rs 95.72.

KOLKATA - Petrol price was at Rs 97.38
Diesel Price was at Rs 91.08.

CHENNAI - Petrol price was at Rs 98.65
Diesel Price was at Rs 92.83.

On Tuesday, crude oil prices fell marginally after Brent surpassed USD 75 per barrel for the first time in more than two years. Brent crude futures fell 9 cents to USD 74.81 per barrel after reaching a session high of USD 75.30 per barrel, the highest since April 25, 2019.

The impact of local taxes such as VAT and freight costs on fuel prices varies from state to state. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana have the highest VAT rates on petrol and diesel in the country.
