According to Goldman Sachs, the asset management company, stocks that performed well before the decline in stock market and moved slowly during the fall are the ones that outperformed 13 out of 16 times when the BSE 200 index dropped.

• Delivered better returns from their long/short holdings than other investment strategies

Due to the reintroduction of LTCG and a global sell-off, markets saw a correction of over 10% from their peak points in January.

The international brokerage also suggested considering ICICI Bank, TVS Motors, Motherson Sumi, Container Corp. and JSW Energy.
