In general, banks will remain closed on all Sundays, the Second and Fourth week of Saturdays in India. The banks will remain open on the first and third weeks of Saturdays.
All the banks in India including Nationalized Banks, Public Sector, Private Sector and Co-operative Banks will remain closed during the bank holidays.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has categorized holidays under three categories – Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Bank’s Closing of Accounts.
