The RBI in its policy highlighted some facts on the RUPAY Card.
RuPay cards will be enabled for issuance in foreign jurisdictions, according to the RBI.
The RBI has decided to permit issuance of RuPay Prepaid Forex cards by banks.
According to the RBI this will expand the payment options for Indians travelling abroad.
Presently, RuPay cards are issued by more than 1,100 banks.
These include Govt banks, private banks and regional rural and Co-Operative Banks.
