HSBC India appoints Aditya Gahlaut as head of biz banking

HSBC India, announced Aditya Gahlaut as head of business banking for HSBC in India. According to the press release issued by the bank, the new role assigned to Gahlaut would demand him to provide the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the group"s SME business in India.

Speaking on the appointment, HSBC India Managing Director and Head, Commercial Banking, Sandeep Uppal said, "Business banking is a key focus area for the HSBC group in India and we have expanded this business significantly over the past few years. We are confident that Aditya, who as head of commercial banking strategy was closely involved in the development of this business, will lead the unit to even greater heights."

It was in 2000 when Gahluat joined the HSBS group. Prior to the current position, he was taking care about the driving strategy and products portfolio of the bank's commercial banking division. Throughout his entire journey with the bank, he has been able to experience many things across the commercial banking, corporate banking and retail banking businesses.
