United Breweries Ltd has informed BSE that the Company have been informed by UBL Benefit Trust that it has sold its entire shareholding comprising of 60,07,413 Equity Shares held in the Company constituting 2.36% of UBLs paid- up equity capital. The said shares were allotted in terms of the Scheme of Amalgamation of Associated Breweries and Distilleries Ltd, Millennium Alcobev Pvt. Ltd and Empee Breweries Ltd into the Company approved by the Hon'ble High Courts of Karnataka and Madras.
In this regard, the Company has issued a press released dated July 11, 2011, titled "United Breweries announces successful placement of Treasury Stock worth Rs. 285 Crore".
