Ahead of Q4 numbers, Mahindra Satyam gains nearly 2%

Ahead of fourth quarter earnings number ended March 2012, shares of country's leading IT firm Mahindra Satyam gained nearly 2 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange in early trading.

Expecting better results in fourth quarter, shares of the company started the day on positive note and witnessed a gain of as much 1.87 per cent to Rs 70.60 a piece on BSE.

However, there was contraction in volume of trade with 0.69 lakhs shares changing hands till now compared to average of 3.50 lakhs shares in daily trade on BSE.

In a similar fashion, shares of the company were trading at Rs 70.50, up 1.51 per cent on the National Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark Sensex was quoting at 16,181.25, up 151.16 points or 0.94 per cent at 9:38 hours.
