While ICICI Prudential AMC share price made a bumper debut, it closed 0.75% lower from its opening price at Rs 2586.7 per share on BSE on Friday. Shares of its competitors, HDFC AMC, closed 1.83% lower at Rs 2673.9 per share, whereas Nippon Life India AMC (NAM) shares closed 2.59% lower at Rs 888.45 per share.

HDFC AMC's market capitalisation post listing stood at Rs 1,27,849.85 crore on BSE on Friday. Whereas, HDFC AMC's mCap stood at Rs 1,14,525.41 crore. Nippon Life India AMC's market capitalisation stood at Rs 56,597.33 crore on BSE at the time.

HDFC AMC's revenue stood at Rs 35 billion in the financial year 2024-25, which included a mutual fund (MF) fee of 34,819 million. The company had reported a net profit after tax (PAT) 24,611 million. ICICI Prudential AMC and Nippon Life India AMC's revenue stood at Rs 46.8 billion and 22.3 billion in the duration respectively. ICICI Prudential AMC's PAT in FY 25 stood at Rs 26,507 million, whereas that of Nippon Life India's PAT stood at Rs 12,857 million, as per PL Capital report dated December 17.

"We expect equity AAuM CAGR over FY25-28E to be 2.5% higher than industry, leading to core PAT CAGR of 18.5%. Upper band of Rs2,165 suggests a valuation of ~27x on Sep'27 core EPS indicating 17%/16% discount to HDFCAMC (32x) and NAM (32x). ICICIAMC may eventually command a premium to HDFCAMC due to better distribution and diversification while having similar profitability," stated PL Capital in its report.

ICICI Prudential Share Price Target

PL Capital has given a long-term share price target of Rs 3,000 to ICICI Prudential share price indicating a strong upside. ICICI Prudential AMC shares closed at Rs 2586.7 per share on BSE.

HDFC AMC Share Price Target

PL Capital gave a 'Buy' rating to the stock with a target price of Rs 1,800 per share. HDFC AMC shares closed 1.83% lower at Rs 2673 per share.

Nippon Life India AMC Share Price Target

Nippon Life India AMC was also marked with a 'Buy' rating with a target price of Rs 930 per share. Nippon Life India AMC shares ended in red at Rs 888.45 per share.
