Here's what you need to know:

Why PM Modi Hint At Covid-Like Preparedness?

The Covid-19 pandemic was brutal and brought global economies, businesses, daily activities and in general daily lives at standstill. The Covid led to a three-phased lockdown in 2020, 2021, and 2022. The most intense was in 2020, when the pandemic erupted like the virus it is and succummbed millions of lives worlwide. India also took the hardest hit in the Coronavirus era.

During his speech to the upper house of Parliament on Tuesday, PM Modi said, "The effects of these difficult circumstances around the world due to this ongoing conflict are expected to last a long time. Therefore, we have to stay ready, we have to stay united. We stood united and faced such circumstances during Covid pandemic also."

PM Modi added, "In the same manner, we have to stay ready this time around as well. We have to face every challenge with patience and perseverance. This is our identity, our strength."

However, there is no official information on whether India plans a lockdown or lockdown-like situation in 2026. Besides that the West Asia war is not a Covid-like virus that would spread among the people and neither is airborne.

The west Asia war is a geopolitical crisis, one that is expected to impact economies globally.

"I urge citizens to be prepared for every challenge. The impact of this war may be long-lasting, but I assure the people that the government is alert and the nation's interest remains paramount," PM Modi warned citizens.

But Modi added, "the challenges ahead will test us."

"I urge all states to act proactively, as in difficult times it is labourers and the weaker sections who are affected the most. Steps must be taken to safeguard our migrant workers. State governments should also remain vigilant against black marketing, which tends to rise in such periods, and ensure that such practices do not take place," he added.

As per the latest update, Israeli media also indicated that Washington was seeking a one-month ceasefire to facilitate talks, while the New York Times reported that the US had sent Iran a 15-point proposal to resolve the conflict. Still, investors remained skeptical as Tehran denied engaging in any negotiations with the US, while Gulf states signaled readiness to join the war against Iran.
