Here's Portal To Apply For Education Loan At Multiple Banks

If you are also wondering from where you will pay the hefty tuition fee for your college, you can surely approach this NSDL conceived portal, www.vidyalakshmi.co.in, to apply for education loan that has multiple banks registered on it including the likes of Axis Bank, Canara Bank, Dena Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and many others.

The portal helps you apply and keep a track of your education loan application. Plus it also offers linkages to the National Scholarship Portal.

Steps to follow to make education loan application:

1. Sign up on the site: Here in on the landing page itself, you will be asked to register through the blue circle and for the process, you need to furnish basic details such as e-mail, name etc. Post this an activation link will be sent to your e-mail id and that shall be valid for just 24 hours. On clicking on the link, your account will be successfully created on the website.

2. Pick your loan scheme: Before making the application for education loan, you can oversee the different loan schemes available with the banks. For it you need to click on one of the 8 orange tabs as saying 'Search for Loan Scheme'.

It is to be noted that you can apply to maximum 3 banks and one scheme in case of each of the bank.

Herein you have 3 filters on the left side basis the location of your study, amount of loan required and course type. And after you given in the details, you can also choose the bank branch for making the education loan application.

And now you are directed to fill in the Common Education Loan Application Form (CELAF). But remember that before making the application, you keep some of the documents such as your ID proofs, income proofs, highest education certificates etc. handy.

3. Applying for education loan: Herein beginning instructions tab, there are 7 other tabs which need to be followed up and necessary details are to be furnished such as loan amount required, income proofs etc. And another pointer under the tab 'Important Notes' should be carefully read through.

The process is simple and at each stage you need to save and submit the details and click on the next tab.

4. Follow up with the bank: On the landing page there is a tab in orange colour saying 'Application status' which you can check post applying for the loan in a case when the bank itself does not reverts back to you. Also there are given links to the head office and 4 other branches where an applicant can contact to check the status of his or her loan application.
