Strengthening Of Rupee Against Dollar Makes Overseas Travel Cheaper

If you have been too busy scouting for the international destination trip for this summer, the time may be just right with appreciation of rupee against the dollar and euro. So, booking or closing a deal with the travel operator might just suit at the moment, before prices again begin to peak during the summer holidays in April and May.

Strengthening Of Rupee Against Dollar Makes Overseas Travel Cheaper

Rupee has strengthened against a basket of some major currencies in the last six months; for instance, the rupee gained against USD by 7.5%, the UK pound by 7.8%, the Euro by 10% and the Swiss Franc by 9.4%

So, especially when visiting countries including the US, Europe and Britain, travellers will be able to spend more on their trips.

Karan Anand, head-relationships, Cox & Kings Ltd said, "For those who have already booked will have additional funds with them when on tour. A 4% to 5 % change in rupee would easily save around Rs 8000- Rs 10,000 per person depending on the destination."
And the change has come at a time when bookings are generally expensive when tour packages are booked in advance by one or two months.

Last year in comparison in October 2018, the rupee gained past 74 against the dollar which led to huge last minute travel cancellation
