PAN or permanent account number is an important identity proof that is a must-required in case of some of the financial transaction. And if your PAN card has been tempered or is lost then you do not need to worry. As you can apply for its re-print online and the cost for the same will be just Rs. 50.

PAN is issued by NSDL-TIN or UTITSL and you need to approach for the re-issuance of your PAN card. Here on visiting their respective portals, you need to look for the "Reprint PAN Card" option. And from here, you can apply for getting the PAN delivered to your doorstep. Before placing the request for the re-issuance of PAN card, make sure the correspondence address with the income tax department is the same as your current address as the delivery shall be made only to the address which is there in the department's database.
When making the application, you are required to provide your PAN card number as well as date of birth. Also, you need to give your Aadhaar number as PAN and aadhaar card linkage is now mandatory.
To be noted here that ameneded Income tax laws now treats soft copy but not scanned images of PAN to be at par with the hard copy. So, the PDF copy sent over by the income tax department shall also suffice wherever PAN is required.
