How to register for nomination through NetBanking and SBI YONO?
Most banks allow you to add a nomination to your bank account so that if the depositor dies unexpectedly, someone else can claim the funds. All accounts opened in an individual capacity (i.e. single/joint accounts as well as accounts of a sole proprietary concern) can be nominated, according to the bank's website.
The largest public sector bank in India offers a wide range of services to ensure that its customers have a positive banking experience. You can now easily add a nominee to one's bank accounts by using Online SBI and YONO Lite app. This service is easily accessible online and via the YONO Lite app. Here is how you can easily register for nomination using NetBanking, YONO SBI and through visiting the bank branch.
Features-
- All deposit accounts, articles in safe custody, and safe deposit vaults are eligible for nomination.
- Accounts opened in individual capacity (i.e. single / joint accounts as well as accounts of a sole proprietary concern) are eligible for nomination; accounts opened in representative capacity are not.
- Nominations can only be made for one person. Nomination in favour of more than one person (i.e., up to two people) is permitted in jointly operated locker accounts with mutual consent.
- The account holder can make, cancel, or change his or her nomination at any time during his or her life. A witness is required when making a nomination, cancellation, or variation, and the request must be signed by all account holders.
- A nomination can also be made in favour of a minor. The natural guardian will receive the amount on behalf of the minor during the period in which the minor does not reach the age of majority.
- Existing accounts that have not been nominated can be nominated by filling out a form available at the branches.
- The right of a nominee to receive payment from the Bank arises only after the death of the depositor in the case of a single account or the death of all depositors in the case of a joint account.
- If the depositor(s) do not wish to make a nomination, this should be noted on the account opening form with their full signature.
