Bengaluru Power Cut On January 12? BESCOM Update, Area-Wise Helpline Numbers; Is There Chennai Power Outage?
The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has carried frequent power outages in several regions of Karnataka over the past few months. These areas include villages, cities, talukkas, and even the capital city, Bengaluru. Till January 11th, BESCOM carried several hours of power outage in many locations. But is the situation similar on January 12? Nonetheless, there is another city who is likely to see scheduled power disruption on Monday. Its not Bengaluru, but Chennai!
Bengaluru Power Cut Today?

As per the latest update, there are no scheduled power cut in Bengaluru or other areas of Karnataka on January 12. However, at the time of writing, many residents reached out to BESCOM over fluctuations in power supply in their regions for hours. These areas included Teachers Colony HSR, Sathya Sai layout Whitefield 560066, and JyotiFarm Kanakapura road among others. BESCOM has reverted these residents for further details.

Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited is responsible for Power distribution in Eight districts of Karnataka (Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumkur, Chitradurga and Ramanagara). BESCOM covers an area of 41,092 Sq. Kms. with a population of over 207 lakhs.
Chennai Power Cut On January 12:
Many areas of Ambattur and nearby regions will have power outage from 9 am to 2 pm on January 12. This is because the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (TNPDCL) has declared a scheduled maintenance work.

Areas that could be affected are Redhills, Kilkondaiyur, Arakkampakkam, Karlapakkam, Thamaraipakkam, Kathavur, Velachery, Pondeswaram, Karanai, Pudhukuppam, Vaniyan Chathiram, Ayilacherry, Guruvoyil, Vel Tech Road and more.
TNPDCL is entrusted with the responsibility of power distribution in Tamil Nadu. The corporation distributes electricity after purchasing it from independent power producers.
