Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar's Plane Crash Reported During Landing At Baramati Airport
Big News coming from Maharashtra on Wednesday morning after a small aircraft carrying Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar reportedly crashed while attempting to land at Baramati airport. According to the ANI report, the incident took place around 9 AM IST, and the Deputy CM of Maharashtra was onboard along with 2 other people, including one attendant & one Personal Security Officer. and 2 crew members. As per initial information from DGCA, no person on board has survived the crash.

According to initial reports, fire and smoke were seen near the runway, with visuals from the site showing damaged aircraft debris and flames. Fire brigades, local police, airport officials, and medical teams rushed to the spot immediately after the crash was reported.
Ajit Pawar Was On Board The Aircraft
A PTI report confirmed that Ajit Anantrao Pawar, born July 22, 1959, was on board the aircraft at the time of the incident. Ajit Pawar has been serving as the 8th Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, alongside Eknath Shinde, under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis since December 2024.
Rescue Operations Underway, Investigation Likely
Emergency teams reached the crash site within minutes. Authorities have cordoned off the area, and airport operations at Baramati are likely to be temporarily affected.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is expected to begin a detailed probe to determine the exact cause of the incident.
