The State Bank of India provides several special fixed deposit schemes alongside its regular retail domestic term deposits. These SBI FD schemes are tailored to offer higher FD interest rates and targeted benefits for different customer groups, such as senior citizens, super-senior citizens, etc.

Here are the special SBI FDs, which are an attractive alternative to regular term deposits. All these schemes are applicable for retail deposits below Rs 3 crore, and the latest revised rates are effective from mid-2025.
Amrit Vrishti FD (444 Days)
SBI's Amrit Vrishti FD is currently one of the most popular special fixed deposit schemes. With a unique tenure of 444 days, it offers an interest rate of 6.60% for general customers and 7.10% for senior citizens. This special FD requires a minimum deposit of Rs 1,000 and has no upper limit, making it suitable for small savers as well as large depositors.
SBI Green Rupee Term Deposit
The SBI Green Rupee Term Deposit supports green and climate-related projects in India. It is available for 1111 days, 1777 days, and 2222 days, providing interest rates of 5.90% for general customers and 6.40% for seniors. SBI offers both cumulative and non-cumulative options. This FD pays 10 bps lower than regular card rates, as it is designed to promote sustainable finance.
SBI Patrons Deposit
The SBI Patrons Deposit Scheme offers varying tenures from 7 days to 10 years. It gives super-senior citizens who are 80+ years of age an additional 10 basis points above the senior citizen rate on eligible tenures, which means higher returns for elderly depositors.
SBI We-Care Deposit
The SBI We-Care FD is specially designed for senior citizens who invest in 5-10-year FDs. It offers an additional 50 bps over the standard senior citizen rates, enabling seniors to earn 7.05-7.15% depending on the tenure. This scheme has been highly popular for long-term retirement planning.
SBI Sarvottam Term Deposit
The SBI Sarvottam FD offers premium rates for deposits of Rs 15 lakh and above. The interest rates go up to 6.85% for general customers and 7.05%+ for seniors, delivering nearly 30-40 bps higher returns than regular term deposits. Tenures are offered for 1 year and 2 years, and it is ideal for medium-term savers.
SBI Annuity Deposit
The SBI Annuity Deposit Scheme allows customers to deposit a lump sum and receive monthly payouts that include both principal and interest. Available in 3, 5, 7, and 10-year options, the scheme offers 6.05% to 6.25% for general citizens and 6.55% to 7.05% for senior citizens. This FD is ideal for retirees or anyone seeking predictable monthly income.
The Discontinued SBI Amrit Kalash FD
The earlier SBI Amrit Kalash FD, which offered 7.10% for general customers and 7.60% for senior citizens, ended on March 31, 2025. It has now been replaced with the Amrit Vrishti FD, offering a similar short-term investment advantage with updated rates.
Important Tax Rules for SBI Fixed Deposits
All SBI FD earnings are taxable. TDS applies to interest above Rs 50,000 (Rs 1 lakh for seniors) in a financial year. The Depositors whose income is below the taxable limit can submit Form 15G/15H to avoid TDS deduction.
