SBI Card has announced an adjustment to the benefits of its well-liked Cashback SBI Card, which will take effect on April 1, 2026. This modification will probably have an impact on how cardholders maximize their rewards. The alteration adds a cap on the total amount of cashback that can be earned in a statement cycle and expands the list of types of spending that are not eligible. In order to maximize their cashback benefits under the revised terms, cardholders will thus need to be more careful about where and how they spend using the Cashback SBI Card. The following changes will apply to your CASHBACK SBI Card starting on April 1, 2026.

CASHBACK SBI Card New Benefits
There will be a restriction of Rs 4,000 on the maximum amount of cashback that can be earned in a statement cycle. A cardholder's total cashback rewards in a single statement cycle would be limited to Rs 4,000 under the new rules. Cardholders can earn up to Rs 2,000 from online spends at a rate of 5% and up to Rs 2,000 from offline (POS) transactions at a rate of 1%. The revised benefits are as follows:

Cashback SBI Card Benefits On Digital Gaming Platforms/Merchants, Tolls and Government-related Transactions
"Cashback will not be applicable on spends at Digital Gaming Platforms/Merchants, Tolls and Government-related Transactions, in addition to existing exclusions," mentioned SBI Card in a statement.

"The Merchant Category Codes are defined by the Networks and are subject to change basis their discretion and such changes shall be implemented basis communication from the Networks without any requirement for intimation/information to the customers," SBI Card stated in a statement.
Important Announcement For SBI Card Holders
Redemption of reward points for statement credit will be limited to 60,000 reward points per card each calendar month as of April 1, 2026. Please be aware that all credit cards for which reward points can be redeemed as statement credit are subject to the redemption cap, with the exception of Air India SBI Signature Card, PhonePe SBI Card PURPLE, and PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK, which SBI Card has specified on its website.
Reward points for statement credit can now only be redeemed in multiples of 4,000 points as of April 1, 2026. According to SBI Card's official website, this modification is valid for all eligible credit cards except PhonePe SBI Card PURPLE and PhonePe SBI Card SELECT BLACK. According to SBI Card, reward point forfeiture on cashback offers will be processed within 90 days of the cashback issuing date, while reward point forfeiture on instant discount offers will be processed within 120 days of the offer month's end.
