Anand Mahindra was born on 1 May 1955 in Bombay, India. He completed his early schooling from Lawrence School, Lovedale. He then went on to study filmmaking and architecture at Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude in 1977. He completed his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1981.
