  • Birth certificate of Girl child
  • Photo ID of parents or legal guardian
  • Address proof of parents or legal guardian
  • Photograph of child and parent

How to Open Sukanya Samriddhi Account in SBI?

  • Fill up the form
  • Submit the documents along with Photo
  • Deposit Cash (Min of Rs 1000)
  • After opening the account, one can deposit by Cash, Cheque or Demand Draft.

Minimum and Maximum Amount of DepositMin amount is Rs1000 of initial deposit with annual ceiling of Rs 150000 in a financial year
Tenure of the Deposit21 years from the date of opening of the account

Premature Closure

Premature closure is not suggested and is allowed in the event of death of the depositor or in cases of where there is extreme medical support or life threatening diseases, which is to be authorized by an order by the Central Government.

Irregular Payment

If there is irregular payment in the account, there is a penalty of Rs 50 per year along with the minimum specified amount per year.

Withdrawal

50 per cent of the balance lying in the account as at the end of previous financial year for the purpose of higher education, marriage after attaining the age of 18 years.
