EPF Mobile APP: Simple Steps To Activate UAN To Check Balance On Mobile

Things are being increasingly checked on mobiles through Apps and the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) has also facilitated ease in checking balance of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) through Universal Account Number (UAN) by downloading EPF Mobile App.

Now it is convenience for millions of EPF subscribers through the EPF mobile App, which is another convenient offering from India's top retirement fund body. The App is suitable for pensioners and subscribers alike.

By downloading a new app, one can activate Universal Account Number or UAN and check the balance through the app.

Shri Bandaru Dattatraya, Minister of State for Labour & Employment also launched, SMS based UAN Activation and Missed Call service along with mobile app service.

How to download the EPF mobile app?

The download link is available in the EPF India site and can be downloaded here. Once your download the app, you will have access to activate the UAN.

If you have already activated the UAN, you can check the EPF balance and monthly credits through the passbook.

EPF pensioners will have the access to their pension disbursement details, while, the the employer can also view their remittance details.

SMS based UAN activation

This is another easy way, which enables the EPF members to activate their accounts by sending an SMS to 7738299899. SMS will be charged as per the charges prevailing by telecom operator of the person activating them.

Once the account is activated, an individual can check all the details such as credit alerts, passbook etc.
This service will be beneficial to those who do not have easy access to smart phones and computers.

Earlier, EPFO launched Short Code SMS Service which could be accessed by PF members who have activated their UAN.

Using this service, a member can send SMS to a specific number i.e 7738299899. The format of the SMS is EPFOHO UAN followed by first three characters of the preferred language. Read more on EPF Balance Through Mobile-SMS.

Missed Call Service

This facility is only for members who have activated their UAN. By giving just a missed call to this number 01122901406, would provide all the details. There are no charges applicable on this service, such facility will speed up the UAN activation process by the members.

The Universal Account Number was launched by the Employees Provident Fund sometime last year. Now, most of the employees have migrated to a single number and it would remain permanent even if there is a job shift.

Now, the UAN number has also been linked to the Aadhar Card to enable faster processing of EPF amounts.

The retirement body is now increasingly looking at the prospect of completing requests and crediting amounts within a period of 21 days from receipt of application.
