How To Activate EPF UAN Through SMS?

Individuals can now make use of Universal Account Number (UAN) accounts from their mobile phones and can also access their accounts for viewing their monthly credits through the passbook.

Similarly the EPF pensioners have been given the facility to access their pension disbursement details through this mobile app.

SMS based UAN activation This is another easy way, which enables the EPF members to activate their accounts by sending an SMS to 7738299899.

SMS will be charged as per the charges prevailing by telecom operator of the person activating them.

Once the account is activated, an individual can check all the details such as credit alerts, passbook etc.

Using this service, a member can send SMS to a specific number i.e 7738299899. The format of the SMS is EPFOHO UAN followed by first three characters of the preferred language. Read more on EPF Balance Through Mobile-SMS.

The Member has to send EPFOHO ACT,>,> from his mobile at 7738299899.

For example if UAN 123456789876 and Member ID XXYYY12345670007654321 is to be activated then SMS content will be EPFOHO ACT,123456789876,XXYYY12345670007654321.

Please note that there is no space before and after coma in the SMS. Once activated, the member becomes eligible to all services envisaged in UAN programme such as credit alerts, passbook etc.

This service will be beneficial to those who do not have easy access to smart phones and computers.

Earlier, EPFO launched Short Code SMS Service which could be accessed by PF members who have activated their UAN.
