Universal Account Number (UAN) is a unique number allotted by EPFO to its members. UAN was launched with an aim to link multiple Member Identification Numbers (Member Id) which is allotted to a single member for easy tracking of funds.
When an employee leaves and joins another company, he is required to get the funds and other details transferred to the new account.
