BHIM app launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently registered a record 10 million downloads. BHIM has beaten all of the UPI apps since it's launch. It is considered to be the simplest and easiest UPI App. BHIM lets users make easy and quick payment transactions using UPI.
With a Mobile number or Payment address users can transact money within seconds. All payments over BHIM will be linked to users bank account and the transaction can be completed within few seconds.

What do you need to use BHIM? Transaction charges
There are no charges for making the transaction through Bharat Interface for Money. User's bank might however levy a nominal charge as UPI or IMPS transfer fee. It will be different for each bank. Please check with your bank for more details. BHIM App: How To Download And Use This Payment App?
How to get BHIM?
Bharat Interface for Money app is currently available on Android (Above 4). BHIM will be available on other platforms very soon. The BHIM App can be downloaded from Google Play store for smartphones. For feature phones by dialing *99#, we can use Bharat Interface for Money. This app has been developed by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
Mobile banking should be enabled
Users account need not be enabled for mobile banking to use Bharat Interface for Money. User mobile number shall have to be registered with the Bank. Otherwise, we can't send money. Mobile Banking: What are the Advantages and Disadvantages?
How to set UPI PIN?
Remember, 'UPI-PIN is not the same as MPIN provided by your bank for mobile banking'. You can set your UPI PIN by following these instructions,
- Go to Main Menu
- Select Bank Accounts
- Set UPI-PIN for the selected account
- You will be prompted to enter the last 6 digits of your Debit/ATM card along with the expiry date.
- User will receive an OTP
- Enter the OTP and set your UPI PIN
How to send money using BHIM
Check out how to send money through the BHIM app.
- Click on the send money link on the app
- Enter the mobile number of the payee.
- You can also enter the virtual payment address of the payee.
- Enter the amount
- Give remarks to send money.
- Enter the UPI PIN. It is the same PIN which is used as MPIN with other apps
Once, you enter the UPI PIN, the money gets transferred to the bank account of the payee
