Credit card is one of the main money drainers when it comes to wasting money.check out five ways to get rid of credit card debts.
Credit cards allow consumers to conveniently purchase items without paying for them immediately. A credit card is one of the main money drainers when it comes to wasting money. An individual with a credit card risks carrying too much credit card debt. A structured and disciplined method is needed to avoid risks associated with credit card debts.
Keep these five tips in mind to avoid credit card debt:
1. Pay the full amount due
Paying just the minimum amount due allows you to charge you credit card over and over. If you want to get rid of credit card debt, pay off your credit card balance every month. By doing this, you'll never carry a balance. There will be a monthly interest rate applied to the previous balance, and if you pay the minimum amount, the interest will keep on increasing
2. Contact bank
Sometimes people blindly pay unknown charges assuming that the bank is right. In case you doubt the credit card bill, extra charges, interest rates etc call your bank and question them in detail. If the charge, fee or interest rate does not apply to you, ensure that it's waived off.
3. Pay on time
Don't miss a credit card payment on time. Some banks even have a system where they will multiply your previous balance with their monthly interest rate, that is, even when you pay it off, you will still be charged interest fee for that period. Do not wait for the due date to make your credit card payments. For cheque transfer, it may take some days to process. For funds transfer, it takes a minimum of 24-hours to process, so you may miss the deadline and which will result in paying extra.
4. Limit the card numbers
The more credit cards you have, the more will be the debt. It's very tempting to use the cards for unwanted reasons. Cut down on the number of credit cards in your wallet to avoid credit card debt.
5. Have a look at your purchases
Remember, everything you buy on credit has the potential for debt. Take a close look at your purchases, if you're susceptible to credit card debt. Cut out all that you don't need. Before pick something in a store or ordering something online, ask yourself that if you'll be able to pay for it at the end of that month. If you can't, then don't buy it. If you can pay the bill totally, then pick that stuff.
