Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana established with an objective of affordable housing for all by 2022. It is focused that the benefits of the scheme are enjoyed by women, economically backward groups of Indian society and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Beneficiaries
You will need to belong to Economically Backward calls, lower income group, or minority community to get the benefits under PMAY. Women of lower castes will also be addressed through this system.
Economically weaker section

MIG 2
A person is earning less than Rs 18 lakh come under Medium Income Group 2. The MIG 2 member can get a loan up to Rs 12 lakhs.
Minority Groups
The persons belonging to the minority communities such as the SC/ST or OBC will have to provide adequate provide their caste certificates to enlist themselves for PMAY.
Women
Women are the majority who are targeted through this scheme. Women who either belong to the minority communities or EWS or LIG will also be considered to be eligible for PMAY.
Clauses
A person can be a beneficiary of PMAY with a family and children. The children should be unmarried. The age of the individual must not exceed 70 years. To eligible for this scheme, there should not be any house under his or her name or in the name of any of the members of his or her family.
Benefit
According to a component of the scheme, the carpet area of the houses being made for the EWS would be of about 30 sqm while the carpet area for the houses being built for the LIG will be of 60 sqm. For MIG 1 it will be 90sqm and MIG 2 110 sqm.
