Aadhaar card is a very important document now. The government has made it mandatory to avail many services and benefits. As per the government directives, linking aadhaar with your mobile number is also mandatory now.

If you want to keep your old mobile number or wish to get a new one, you are needed to verify it using your Aadhaar Card number.

Last date

As per the recent government directive, all the existing customers have to link Aadhaar with their mobile numbers. The last date for linking your Aadhaar with the mobile number is 6th Feb 2018. But it is better to complete this process as soon as possible.

Documents needed

For linking Aadhaar card number with mobile number, all you need is your Aadhaar card and your Mobile. The mobile customer will be required to complete biometric verification. You will get a verification code, that is a onetime password (OTP) on your mobile phone, This OTP is needed to complete the process.

eKYC

eKYC is the online method of the usual "Know Your Customer" form. Now it has made compulsory that our mobile service provider should have the basic information of the customer such as name, date of birth, age, etc.

Failure of Aadhaar-mobile linking

It is compulsory to link aadhaar with the mobile number. If you don't complete the process before 6th Feb 18, services on your mobile number might get restricted. If you don't have an aadhaar card, then it is recommended to get your Aadhaar card made at the earliest.

You can visit any mobile service retailer to complete the process. For example, Airtel retailer is offering aadhaar-mobile number linking within few steps. Note, there is no fee for linking Aadhaar with your number.
