Tatkal Tickets Can Now Be Booked And Paid For Later- Know How To Avail The Offer

To rule out chances of transaction failure that leads to tickets remaining unbooked, IRCTC has introduced this mode of payment.

As with other e-tickets, the IRCTC has rolled out this Book now and Pay later facility for even tickets booked under tatkal quota, the announcement in this regard was made on Wednesday. The payment provider of IRCTC, Anduril Technologies, said users can now book tatkal tickets and pay via either of the mode i.e cash, debit or credit card and ask for delivery of railway ticket at their doorstep.

Tatkal Tickets Can Now Be Booked And Paid For Later- Know How?

This new facility of Book Now and Pay Later is expected to rule out transaction failure as most of the time even after the amount for the ticket gets deducted, the ticket is not issued to the user for a number of reasons.

The railway portal is reported to process as many as 1,30,000 tatkal transactions on a daily basis. And most of the tickets under the quota are booked as soon as the window for it opens.

How to avail book now and pay later option on tatkal railway ticket booking?

For availing this special feature, first users need to register themselves on a special portal floated for the purpose, www.irct.payondelivery.co.in. At the time of registration, either PAN or Aadhaar details have to be provided. Further 3-easy steps need to be followed to avail the offer:

1. At first you need to check the pay on delivery option, for availing the service.

2. Thereafter upon booking, digital delivery of the ticket booked under tatkal quota is made by the department by either mail or SMS. Post this collection has to be executed within 24-hours from the booking time.

3. Also, customers have the option to pay for the ticket at a later time by clicking on the link provided to them when booking the ticket.

So, to your ease, the railway department has extended this facility to even tickets booked under tatkal quota other than normal tickets.
