List Of All Accounts And Documents That You Have To Link To Aadhaar Card
The government has made it mandatory for consumers to link many important services with Aadhaar.
Aadhaar card functions as a unique and universal identity card for the citizens of India. The Indian government has made it mandatory for consumers to link many important services with 12 digit Aadhaar card number.
Now it has become an important document for all government related things. From getting the driving license to avail free mid-day meals in the government is making Aadhaar card mandatory for many things.
Here is a list of all accounts and documents that you have to link to Aadhaar Card:
Bank account
All bank account holders need to link their 12 digit Aadhaar card to bank accounts before 31st December 2017. By seeding Aadhaar to your bank accounts, you can receive benefits from government welfare schemes, such as pensions, welfare funds, scholarships, etc. which are directly credited to your bank account.
PAN
The last date to link your Aadhaar and PAN is December 31, 2017. The CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes) urged all to link Aadhaar with PAN to facilitate ease of compliance by the taxpayers. Linking Aadhaar to PAN will minimize corruption and fraud eliminating fake PAN card numbers. Doing it will help the authority to identify tax evaders. It will reduce Black money circulation.
Ration card
Ration card and Aadhaar card can be linked online and offline. You can do it from the Aadhaar seeding website. The applicant needs to submit a passport photograph of the head of the family and a photocopy of your bank passbook. You need to submit these documents to the ration office. You will be notified by SMS or email once the documents have reached for verification. The main objective of linking Aadhaar to ration card is to stop the misuse of ration cards.
Voters ID
Linking Aadhaar with your voter ID can be done online. The only thing you need is your phone. You can do it by sending an SMS or by contacting the call center. Linking Aadhaar with Voters ID will help eliminate multiple voter ID cards in one person's name. It will help to clean up the voting system.
LPG
Your bank account and Aadhaar card should be linked to do this action. Linking Aadhaar to your LPG will enable you to avail subsidized LPG that the government offers.
Mobile number
As per Department of Telecom, (DoT) KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is mandatory for obtaining new sim card connections. All the existing telecom customers have to seed their Aadhaar with the sim card. The telecom companies have been sending text messages to the customers asking them to link and verify their Aadhaar card with their mobile number.
Driving license
The is considering making Aadhaar cards mandatory for securing vehicle registration, obtaining passport and driving license in India. The move is to create a national database and curb the problem of fake licenses and passports.
EPF
It is mandatory to link your Employees Provident Fund account with your Aadhaar numbers. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has urged its members to link their accounts with Aadhaar. You can perform this both offline and online. With seeding Aadhaar and EPF account details of the account holders can be directly verified with the help of Aadhaar number.
Insurance
The insurance regulator body IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) has made it mandatory for companies to link Aadhaar with every individual policy. Many insurance companies have been asking their customers to update their KYC details including PAN and Aadhaar.
