MTS telecom services are popular in India. As per the notification of Department of Telecommunication, active customers of the MTS Mobile SIM should now be linked to the Aadhaar Card.

The move is in order to curb the fake SIMs. The Government has ordered to link all mobile numbers to Aadhaar on or before 6th Feb 2018. The mobile numbers would be suspended after that in case not connected. Now MTS consumers have received text messages from their service providers, asking them to link Aadhaar to the mobile number.

Points to note

Make sure two things before you start linking the MTS mobile number with your Aadhaar Card. You must have an Aadhaar Card.If you don't have the 12 digit Aadhaar number till now, make sure you apply for it as early as possible. The phone number registered with the Aadhaar should be active so that you can receive verification SMS. Note, the mobile number must be added to your Aadhaar card to enable OTP transactions.

Step 1

Visit your nearest MTS Store and provide your Aadhaar details to the store executive. Enter the Aadhaar details in the BioMetric enabled the system.

Step 2

Step 3

Now you will receive another SMS confirming the verification of the fingerprint. Provide your MTS SIM connection details with the personal details of the Executive. This will be entered into the system again.

Step 4
