The UIDAI issues the 12-digit biometric enabled aadhaar ID that is now a must to have for several services and financial transactions. The ID is used primarily for identity verification and authentication. And as a person holding the aadhaar ID, you have the provision that allows you to check where and when your aadhaar was last used.

To check upon this, you need to follow these listed steps:
1. On the UIDAI web site, go to the Aadhaar authentication history link hosted on the bottom -right side under the tab Aadhaar services.
2.Enter your aadhaar ID and the security code. Click on generate OTP.
3. You will receive the OTP on your number registered with the UIDAI. Ensure you have verified your phone number with the UIDAI.
4.Thereafter you will be asked to choose the period for which the information is sought plus the number of transactions. After keying in the OTP, press on submit.
5.The screen enlisting the date, time as well as the nature of Aadhaar authentication requests during the period will be displayed for your cross-verification.
Hence in a case if you find any request for authentication that seems to be suspicious, you can lock your aadhaar online and unlock it when ever you need to use it.
