How To Link EPF UAN With Aadhaar Using Umang App?

Now that linking of several financial accounts as well as social benefit schemes with aadhaar has been made mandatory, EPF UAN is no exception. And both new as well as existing EPF subscribers have to comply with this mandate and if until now you could not link the two numbers. Here's a more easy way to do it if you are a smartphone user using the UMANG app.

How To Link EPF UAN With Aadhaar Using Umang App?

1. Download Umang app: In case your smartphone is not having the UMANG app which is a govt conceived app as web based platform enabling a person to have access to Indian government services. The app can be downloaded from the play store of your Android or iphone. Later you can add in your user details for the registration on the site.

2. Click on the sub-app EPFO under the service: UMANG envisaged to make e-governance mobile first caters to a host of services and to reach the EPFO centric service, you need to click on the sub-app particularly catering to PF related services.

3. Tab eKYC now needs to be reached: After the EPFO: Of the 4 other services including employer, employee-centric, general and e-KYC services under the EPF head, you need to click on the e-KYC tab. For the aadhaar linking or seeding, click on the tab 'aadhaar seeding' under eKYC , here you will be asked to give in the UAN number. Ensure it has been activated at first through proper verification.

4. Verification through OTP: OTP is then sent to UAN registered mobile number which then requires you to complete the seeding process. At this point you will be asked of your aadhaar ID and other details including gender. On successful OTP verification, aadhaar seeding with EPF UAN gets completed.
