3 Simple Ways To Check Your EPF Account Balance Without UAN

Employee Provident Fund leads to the monthly contribution made by both employee and employer in the context of salary deductions at a defined rate. The allowance is provided for retirement benefits for the employees. Employees are allowed to withdraw the corpus amount at the time of retirement to cover their expenditures at the time of retirement. The Employee Provident Fund is managed by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Your employer generates an EPF account automatically on your behalf once you join the organisation and start your work. A Universal Account Number is issued along with a member passbook once the EPF account is established.

You can access your EPF account online using UAN on the official portal of EPF. The EPF passbook consists of specifics of the transaction, contribution, withdrawal amount and so on. The PDF format of your EPF passbook can also be downloaded from the EPFO portal. A member can manage their account online with a registered password after activation of the UAN. With the Universal Account Number (UAN), EPF subscribers can verify and withdraw balance from their EPF corpus. There are several instances, though, where the UAN is not accessible to a subscriber, may have been lost or has not been activated. Considering such instances employees can give a missed call or send an SMS to check their EPF balance.

How to withdraw EPF corpus without UAN?

Generally, you can withdraw your PF money, either by submitting a physical application or via an online application. That being said, to do so through an online application, you will require an activated UAN, which must also be linked to your Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account respectively. You can pursue the old approach and submit a physical application if you do not have the UAN with you, and you can withdraw funds from your PF account successfully. You need to download the Aadhaar-based new composite claim form or the non-Aadhaar composite claim form for submission of the physical request. In the instance of an Aadhaar-based new composite claim form you must fill it in and submit your PF withdrawal application form at the regional PF office without the employer's certification. You need to fill it up to get it approved in the instance of a non-Aadhaar composite claim form. The PF office requires this to prevent abuse and ensure that no one withdraws the funds on your behalf. Remember that by either any bank manager, a Gazetted Officer or a Magistrate your composite claim form must be attested. You then need to submit the application form to the specific jurisdictional EPFO office after filling it out.
