Aadhaar-DigiYatra Linking Process: Step-By-Step Guide On How To Link Aadhaar With DigiYatra Online

DigiYatra app is a decentralized mobile-based ID storage platform where air travelers can save their IDs and travel documents. Introduced by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) and DigiYatra Foundation, this platform, DigiYatra enables the automatic digital processing of flyers with the benefit of reduced wait time and makes the boarding process faster and more seamless. The platform is built on four pillars, including connected passengers, connected flying, connected airports, and connected systems, and ensures easy entry at all checkpoints.

Users can connect their Aadhaar to DigiYatra using DigiLocker. It is critical to link your Aadhaar with DigiYatra to get the benefits of the DigiYatra initiative which provides a Biometric Enabled Seamless Travel (BEST) experience based on Facial Recognition System (FRS). It aims to provide contactless identification of passengers at key checkpoints like; Airport Entry, Security Check, and Boarding Gate. Before we proceed to the steps to link your Aadhaar with DigiYatra, let us first see how to use the DigiYatra App.

How to Download the DigiYatra App?
Download the DigiYatra App from the Play Store (Android) and follow the below steps:
1. Register using your phone number and OTP.
2. Link your Aadhaar credentials using Digi Locker. Or Use an Aadhar number to register.
3. Register on Digi Locker, if not already registered, with Aadhaar.
4. Take a selfie with good photo clarity validate it with your Aadhaar and save credentials.
It is suggested to ensure that the full name on your Boarding Pass is the same as your Aadhaar name.

Linking Aadhaar With DigiYatra Through Digi Locker:
Step 1: Install the DigiYatra app on your device.
Step 2: Sign in using your mobile number.
Step 3: Select the Wallet option.
Step 4: After this, you will be asked to select the "Link Aadhaar" option and proceed with the provided instructions to link your Aadhaar with DigiYatra.
Step 5: When prompted, capture a selfie and upload it to the application.
Step 6: Share your boarding pass by uploading it onto the DigiYatra app.
Is it mandatory to have Digi Locker to register for DigiYatra?
No. In case you are not registered with Digi Locker, register yourself using your Aadhaar number.
