Bank Holidays in April 2023: Banks will remain Closed for 15 days in April; Check Full List

Bank clients who wish to visit their individual banks in April 2023 should prepare ahead of time since banks will be closed for 15 days, including bank closings, regional holidays, Sundays, and the second and fourth Saturdays. Banks will be closed for half a month in April 2023 due to different festivities such as Good Friday, Eid, and Baba Ambedkar Jayanti, among others. Since bank branches will be closed, transactions can still be completed using mobile and online banking. Check out the list of 2023 bank holidays.

Bank holidays in the month of April-

April 1 - Banks will remain closed in all states except Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh .
April 2 - Bank will remain closed as it is sunday
April 4 - Banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Lucknow, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi and Jharkhand.
April 5th - Banks in Hyderabad will remain closed in honour of Babu Jagjivan Ram's birthday.
April 7 (Good Friday)- Banks are closed in several states except Tripura, Rajasthan, Jammu, Gujarat, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
April-8- Bank will remain closed due to second saturday
April- 9- Bank will remain closed as t is Sunday
April- 14- Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Vaisakhi/Baisakhi/Tamil New Year's Day/Maha Bisubha Sankranti/Biju Festival/Buisu Festival- Banks are closed in most states with the exception of Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Mehalaya, and Himachal Pradesh.
April 15 - Banks will remain closed in Assam, Bengal, Kerala, Tripura and Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Vishu/Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day/Bengali New Year's Day (Nababarsha).

Tuesday, April 18- Banks are closed in Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Shab-l-Qadr.
April 21- Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Eid)/Garia Puja/Jumat-ul-Vida- Banks are closed in Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, and Kerala.
April 22- Ramzan Eid (Eid-Ul-Fitr): Banks are closed on the fourth Saturday of Ramzan.
April 23 - Bank will remain closed as it is Sunday
April 30 - Banks will remain closed as Sunday is a holiday in banks across the nation.

However, as the fiscal year 2022-23 comes to a conclusion, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked all banks to maintain their branches open till the end of business hours on March 31. The RBI stated in a letter to all agency banks on Tuesday that all government transactions done by agency banks in 2022-2023 must be accounted for within the same fiscal year.
