Bengaluru Traffic Challan Alert: Attention all motorists in Bengaluru! If pending traffic challans and mounting late fees have been a cause of concern, here is some relief. The Karnataka government has launched a scheme offering a 50% waiver on outstanding traffic fines.
Karnataka Traffic Challan Waiver: What It Is?
Karnataka government has announced that motorists and vehicle owners can resolve their pending challans at a 50% discount. As per a Karnataka traffic police order, a 50% discount will be applicable on fines related to e-challans registered by the police before May 2026 and still pending for payment.

People can also get concession on their pending traffic challans registered with the Transport Department between 1991 and 2022.
"The Government of Karnataka has announced a special scheme to help people clear their pending traffic fines. According to Order No. TD 27 TDO 2023, Bengaluru dated 04.06.2026, anyone with unpaid traffic e-challans issued by the Police before May 2026 can pay only 50% of the outstanding fine and settle the case," read a notice issued by the Karnataka Police.
When Can Bengaluru Vehicle Owners Apply Settle Traffic Challans On Concession?
The window to settle traffic challans on concession will start on June 21, 2026 and will close on July 10, 2026. "This concession is available from 21st June 2026 to 10th July 2026. During this period, people with pending traffic fines can take advantage of the scheme and clear their dues by paying half of the amount owed," the notification added.
Bengaluru Traffic Challan: How To Settle Traffic Challan and Avail Waiver?
Before applying to settle for traffic challans, residents must get details about their pending traffic challans. Follow the below steps to view and pay the pending fine details.
-Download and install the Karnataka State Police (KSP) application.
-Enter your details and check information about pending challan.
-People can also use BTP ASTRaM app to check the details.
-Use these two applications to settle the pending fine as well.
Once you get information about your pending challans, visit the nearest police station or traffic management centre. Contact the officials and initiate the process to settle payment.
Bengaluru residents can also use The Karnataka One or Bangalore One websites to complete the process.
Karnataka Government has state settled 902 transport department penalty cases. This generated about Rs 29.66 lakh in revenue. The government hopes to clear the remaining backlog. This latest effort encourages more motorists to pay.
A large number of cases remain pending. An estimated Rs2,827 crore is still recoverable. This new scheme seeks to clear that massive amount. Motorists can now finalize these long-pending violations. The concession period starts on June 21.
