DigiYatra- How to Register for DigiYatra Step-by-Step Guide?

The Indian government is working to digitise the majority of public-sector processes. In the same vein, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, in collaboration with the DigiYatra Foundation, developed the DigiYatra app to expedite and digitise airport passenger identification and check-in procedures.Digi Yatra enables the traveller to pass through various checkpoints at airports using facial features to establish his or her identity, which can then be linked to the boarding pass. The service is linked to Aadhar-based authentication and self-image capture. What is Digi Yatra?

Digi Yatra is a government of India initiative led by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to make air traveller/passenger journeys seamless, hassle-free, and health-risk-free. The Digi Yatra process uses a single face biometric token to digitally validate Identity, Travel, Health, or any other data required for air travel.

DigiYatra enrollment process

• Passengers can generate a Digi Yatra ID by providing the following information in a central system: Name, Email, Phone Number, and Personal Information (Voter Id, Driving License, Aadhar etc)
• A Digi Yatra Id will be generated after submission. Passengers can book their tickets using this number. Airlines send passenger data to the departure airport.
• Passengers must go to the airport's registration to have their ID validated on their first trip.Verification of Aadhar cards will be done online and CISF will manually verify any other identification.
• After verification, the passenger's photo will be added to the central system's Digi Yatra profile.

How to register using mobile Application?

Passengers must first register their information on the DigiYatra app using Aadhaar-based validation and a self-image capture in order to use the service. A DigiYatra ID will be generated after you enrol in the service. Here's how to use the DigiYatra mobile app to sign up for the service:

• Install the DigiYatra app on your Android or iOS smartphone from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
• Click the "Get Started" button.
• Please enter your mobile phone number here.
• Choose the Register option.
• Then, to validate your phone number, enter the OTP you received.
• Then, at the bottom of the screen, select the "Wallet" option.
• Choose Identity credential from the drop-down menu.
• Accept the terms and conditions.
• Upload your identity documents.
• After you upload, your DigiYatra ID will be generated.

Process at airport

• The passenger will scan his boarding pass or e-ticket at the E-Gate entry point (Print or a soft copy in mobile).
• After scanning the barcode / QR code, the system will validate the passenger and flight details.
• Once the Ticket and Digi Yatra ID have been successfully verified, the e-Gate will be activated. For the remainder of the airport journey, the face with ticket PNR is converted into a single token.
• Identity of the Digi Yatra ID users is verified using the face recognition.
• Passengers will be allowed access to the security area and the aircraft. Boarding via e-Gate with a Facial Recognition System
