Masked Aadhaar option lets individuals mask their Aadhaar number in their downloaded e-Aadhaar. Under masked Aadhaar, the first 8 digits of the Aadhaar number get replaced with characters like "xxxx-xxxx" and only the last 4-digits of the Aadhaar number remain visible.

It is worth noting that individuals get the option to download masked Aadhaar in 3 unique ways namely Aadhaar Number, Enrollment ID, and Virtual ID. When you decide to download your e-Aadhaar, you may select from regular Aadhaar and Masked Aadhaar.

• Visit official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/
• Choose the option "Download Aadhaar" under "My Aadhaar" tab
• Now you need to select the desired method to download "Masked Aadhaar".
• Method 1 Aadhaar Number: If you have Aadhaar Card handy, enter 12-digit Aadhaar number along with your full name and pin code on the website.
• Method 2 Enrolment Number: Here you need to use the 28-digit enrolment number along with your full name and pin code to download Aadhaar Card.
• Method 3 Virtual ID: You may use 16-digit Virtual ID on the portal for the purpose of downloading Masked Aadhaar
• Now tick the box with the label "I Want A Masked Aadhaar" for choosing Masked Aadhaar option
• Click on the button "Send OTP" to receive an OTP to your registered mobile number
• Enter the OTP to access Masked Aadhaar
• You may also opt for "Enter TOTP" button if you want to use time bound OTP generated from mAadhaar app
