Employee Pension Scheme-1995 (EPS-95) is a social security scheme offered by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Employees in the organised sector who retire under this scheme are eligible for a pension. This programme began in 1995. Every month, a fixed minimum pension of Rs 1000 - Rs 2000 can be obtained under this scheme. There are also numerous other amenities available. To be eligible for the scheme's benefits, an employee must have served for at least 10 years, which does not have to be continuous service.

  1. Pension at Retirement Age of 58 Years- When a member reaches the age of 58, he becomes eligible for pension benefits. However, in order to receive pension benefits, he must have served for at least ten years when he reaches the age of 58. An EPS Scheme Certificate is generated, which can be used to complete Form 10D for monthly pension withdrawal.

  3. Pension for Total Disability During Service- Even if an EPFO member has not served the required number of years, he is entitled to a monthly pension if he becomes totally and permanently disabled. The member is eligible for a monthly pension beginning on the date of permanent disability and continuing for the rest of his life. The member may, however, be required to undergo a medical examination to determine whether he is fit for the job he was doing before becoming disabled.
