Forgot Your SBI Profile Password? This Is How You Can Reset It

The Profile Password offer an extra security layer to your accounts. As and when you decide to access any functionality in the Profile tab, you must authenticate yourself with your Profile Password. For instance, while setting your mobile number, adding a third party, defining limits for DD and third party transactions, and even while changing the Login password.

The profile password is also required to enable high security to your accounts and to issue a demand draft. For enhancing the security, you must use multilingual image based virtual key board (MIVKB), according to SBI official website.

You must mandatorily set your profile password when you login to the Internet banking website for the first time. The Profile password must be different from the login password. Ensure that you set a profile password that consists of a combination or numbers, letters and special characters / images so that it remains difficult to crack. You will be asked to select a hint question and give an answer to the same.

The Hint question will be used to verify your identity in case you forget your profile password in future. Ensure that you memorize the password, hint question and answer, as per the SBI website.

Forgot Profile Password? Here are the quick steps to reset it
If you have forgotten your profile password, you can reset the same yourself. You need to authenticate yourself with the hint question and answer that you had set for the Profile password or through ATM Debit card validation. If you don't remember the hint question or answer and you don't have the ATM debit card, you can approach your branch to reset the password.

How to reset Profile Password?
If you set the hint question or answer during first time login, you can use Hint Question Answer to reset the password, according to the SBI website.

To reset the Profile password using Hint Question Answer:

1. Click Profile -> Forgot Profile Password. A Forgot Profile Password Page appears and displays the below options to reset the Profile password
• Using Hint Question Answer
• By Visiting Branch
• Approval through ATM Debit Card

2. Select the option Using Hint Question Answer.

3. In this page, select the hint question, which you had set when you created your profile password for the first time.

4. Enter the answer to the hint question.

5. Click [Submit]. The Set Profile Password page appears and allows you to define a new profile password.

6. Enter a new profile password. Ensure that your password is a combination of letters in upper and lower case, digits and special characters/ images, so that it is difficult to crack.

7. Reenter the same to confirm the password. Select a hint question and enter the answer for the same.

8. Click [Submit]. Your new profile password is registered in the system as indicated by the Confirmation page that appears.
