The country's leading lender SBI through its seamless service has now simplified the process to block the lost debit card and also get the same reissued.In its recent tweet on its official twitter handle, the bank has posted a tweet stating the way in which SBI debit card can be blocked via IVR.

How to block SBI debit card via IVR over phone call?

The tweet says the bank customers can dial the number Just call 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800 from your registered number linked to your SBI account.

- At this stage you need to enter the number '0' for blocking your card.

- To continue with the process you now have the option to press either '1' or '2',

1. This is for blocking SBI debit card via the registered mobile number and card number.
2. For blocking the card by using the registered mobile number and account number.

And this is done by entering the last 5 digits of the account number and then confirm by entering 1 number again.

If you select number '1' -You need to enter the last 5 digits of the card then press 1 to confirm and as the last step enter 2 to re-enter the last 5 digits of the SBI card.
Your debit card shall be blocked and the same shall be confirmed via the SMS.
Then in case if you wish to apply for replacement card then enter 1 to apply for the replacement card. You can here click on number '7' to take to the previous menu and press 8 for main menu.

If you apply for replacement of card and press 1: Here is the process?

You need to first enter your year of birth. The card will be sent to your registered address and card replacement charges will be applied. Press 1 to confirm or to cancel you need to enter '2'.

Now if you press 1 Your card replacement request is successfully placed with the bank and a confirmation on the same is sent to your registered mobile number.
