How to Book Bus Tickets With IRCTC?

According to a press release, the partnership would allow IRCTC to access bus inventory across 1 lakh bus routes, offering its customers the option of booking AC or non-AC tickets/buses based on their needs.

IRCTC plans to make it easier for its customers to book travel, where they can easily refer to bus availability if they notice train tickets on the waiting list without jumping from one platform to another.

The integration of this in the Mobile app will be completed by March. Along with this, the customer will be able to choose their pick-up and drop points at a reasonable price with the ongoing bank and e-wallet discounts too.

How to Book Bus Tickets Using the IRCTC website?

To book tickets online, individuals should have a bank net banking facility and follow the below process to book tickets online.

Step 1: Visit the IRCTC website for Bus booking (https://www.bus.irctc.co.in/home)
Step 2: Enter details - Depart From, Going To, Departure Date
Step 3: Select bus, bus timing, pickup, drop as per your reference
Step 4: Users can book bus tickets using their IRCTC login credentials. You can book via guest user login by providing the appropriate email ID and mobile number if you do not have an IRCTC login.
Step 5: Book the tickets using your net banking
Step 6: OTP will be set your registered mobile number
Step 7: Make payments and tickets will be sent to your mobile number and mail ID.

Things to Note

  • Payments can be made through debit card, credit card, net banking, wallets and UPI, to complete your booking.
  • In a single transaction, a maximum of 6 passengers may be booked.
  • Cancellations can only be done online for online bookings
  • No, a change of name or gender is not permitted. It is better to cancel and go for a fresh booking in case of changes.
  • Partial cancellation of passengers is allowed.

As per the IRCTC statement, in order to provide online bus booking services to passengers, the IRCTC has partnered with more than 50,000 state road transport and private bus operators covering 22 states and three union territories.

Almost all fleets of state road transport corporation buses will be enabled from IRCTC. For example, UPSRTC, APSRTC, GSRTC, OSRTC, Kerala RTC, etc.
