How to Change or Update Address in Aadhaar Card With Consent of the Head of the Family?

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made it easier for residents to update their address in Aadhaar online. Aadhaar holders can now update their address online with the consent of the Head of Family (HoF).
This comes about a week after the UIDAI requested that residents who received their Aadhaar card ten years ago and have never updated it do so. Residents should keep their Aadhaar cards up to date with current proof of identity and proof of address.
Aadhaar holders can update their address in Aadhaar online with the permission of their Head of Family, according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This would be extremely helpful to a resident's relative(s), such as children, spouses, or parents, who do not have supporting documents in their own names and need to update their address in their Aadhaar.

The UIDAI has set up a resident-friendly facility to assist them in updating their address in Aadhaar online with the consent of the Head of Family (HoF). The HoF-based online address update in Aadhaar will be extremely beneficial to a resident's relative(s) who do not have supporting documents in their own name to update addresses in their Aadhaar.
Address changes in Aadhaar can be made by submitting Proof of Relationship documents such as a Ration Card, Marksheet, Marriage Certificate, Passport, or any other related information that includes the names of both the applicant and the HOF, their relationship, and OTP-based authentication by the HOF. If the Proof of Relationship document is not available, the resident may submit a self-declaration by the HOF in the format prescribed by UIDAI.
Any resident over the age of 18 can be a HOF for this purpose, and through this process, he or she can share his or her address with relatives.

How to Change or Update Address in Aadhaar Card without submitting new address proof

Step 1: Navigate to the My Aadhaar portal, or simply visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: When attempting to update your address online, select the new option.
Step 3: Enter the HOF's Aadhaar number. No other information about the HOF's Aadhaar will be displayed on the screen in order to protect the HOF's privacy.
Step 4: After successfully validating the HOF's Aadhaar number, you must upload the Proof of Relationship document.
Step 5: You will be charged Rs 50 for the service.
Step 6: Upon successful payment, a service request number (SRN) will be shared, and an SMS regarding the address request will be sent to the HOF.
Step 7: The HOF must approve the request and provide consent by logging into the My Aadhaar portal within 30 days of receiving notification, or the request will be processed.
Notably, if the HOF refuses to share the address, or does not accept or decline within 30 days of the SRN's creation, the request will be closed. An SMS will be sent to you once the request has been closed. The amount will be refunded if the request is now closed or rejected due to non-acceptance of the HOF or rejected during the process.
