  • Visit the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
  • Now download the Aadhaar Enrolment form under the 'My Aadhaar' section.
  • Duly fill the application form and submit it at your nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre.
  • To locate your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre click on uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
  • Then, give the manager of the centre the biometric details. Your live photo will then be taken on camera by the operator of the centre.
  • Finally, all the specifics are checked, the processing fee must be paid and the slip must be collected by you. You will get an Update Request Number (URN) once your photo is authorized. Within 90 days, you will get a new Aadhaar card with the revised photo.

By visiting the official portal of UIDAI you can download the revised form of your Aadhaar Card. Follow the below-listed steps for the same:

  • Now select the 'Download Aadhaar' option under the 'Get Aadhaar' tab
  • Select the alternative Aadhaar/VID/Enrollment ID and choose whether to download a standard or a masked Aadhaar card.
  • Now enter your Aadhaar Number, Captcha code and any other specifics and click on 'Request OTP'
  • Now you will get an OTP on your mobile number that is linked with your Aadhaar.
  • Authenticate the OTP by entering it in the required space and click 'Download Aadhaar'.
  • Once you are done you updated Aadhaar will be downloaded successfully.

  • You can also use either the Enrolment ID (EID), Virtual ID (VID), Name and Date of Birth, mAadhaar mobile App, Digilocker and the UMANG app to download the updated version of your Aadhaar Card.
  • There is no facility to change the photo in your Aadhaar Card online. You need to visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre for the same.
  • To change the photo on the Aadhaar card, you do not need any proof of residence or any other specifics.
  • It takes approximately 90 days to change the photo or any other specifics of an Aadhaar Card.
  • As the representative clicks the photograph on the spot using the webcam, you do not have to carry a physical passport photograph while visiting your nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre.
  • The Aadhaar update status can be tracked online using the URN specified in the Acknowledgement Slip.
  • There is no online procedure through the Self Service Update Portal (SSUP) for modifying the photo in your Aadhaar Card.
