What is DigiLocker?
DigiLocker is a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) flagship initiative under the Digital India programme. DigiLocker aims to empower citizens by providing access to authentic digital documents in the citizen's digital document wallet. According to Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention of Information by Intermediaries Offering Digital Locker Facilities) Rules, 2016, issued documents in the DigiLocker system are considered equal to original physical documents.

Steps to Download DigiLocker Documents via WhatsApp-
- Save +91-9013151515 as MyGov Helpdesk in your contacts.
- Look for MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp.
- Type Digilocker, Namaste, or Hello to activate the chatbot.
- The available options will be displayed by the chatbot.
- When prompted if you have a Digilocker account, choose Yes, followed by Digilocker services.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhar number when the chatbot asks for it. It is necessary to link and authenticate your Digilocker account.
- Enter the one-time password (OTP) that was sent to your registered mobile number.
- The chatbot will display a list of documents associated with your Aadhar number after you accept the OTP.
- Click on the document you want to download to open it.
- The document will be downloaded using WhatsApp.
How to upload documents in Digital Locker
- Visit the DigiLocker official website at https://digilocker.gov.in/.
- Then, sign in to your DigiLocker account using your credentials.
- The account dashboard will then appear on your screen. The initial options for uploading your personal documents or documents are displayed in the middle of the page.
- Alternatively, you can select the "Upload documents" option on the left side of the home page.
- You can choose the folder option if you want to keep a separate file for uploading documents. To upload the document, you must include a description.
- Click the Upload button, then select the file to be uploaded, and the file will be loaded.
- Then, select the document type and press the save button. It will appear after the page has been reloaded.
- For the sake of security, each document will have the Digi sign option.
- You can easily get data from any file by simply checking it, and you can easily remove documents by clicking the Remove button.
