HDFC Bank announced last month that it has granted over 4 lakh credit cards after the prohibition was removed by RBI. The new release is effective September 21, 2021, and represents the bank's post-embargo robust development strategy to manage its credit card array with excellent offerings and alliances. The bank also revealed the reintroduction of three cards last month. HDFC Bank's Millennia, MoneyBack+, and Freedom cards have been redesigned to provide customers with a slew of new features and advantages.
Following the launch of the aforementioned offerings, HDFC Bank has piqued the curiosity of its customers by allowing them to do online transactions using credit or debit cards. HDFC Bank has said via its Twitter handle that "Have you enabled your card before making any online transaction. Do it via NetBanking or IVR and enjoy seamless transactions. You can also enable your HDFC Bank Credit Card through WhatsApp & EVA chat assist."Follow the steps below to discover how to authorise online transactions on your HDFC Credit or Debit Card.
Steps to enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card via net banking
By enabling online transactions on your HDFC Credit Card, you will be able to take advantage of a variety of services such as managing online transactions on the go, international payments, tap to pay usage, a seamless online shopping experience, safe contactless payments, hassle-free transactions, managing multiple credit cards online, and much more. To enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card via your net banking account, follow the steps listed below.
- Visit the NetBanking portal of the bank and sign in to your account using the required credentials such as Customer ID/ User ID and password.
- Click on the "Cards" tab on the top section of the page.
- Now click on "Request" on the left side of the page.
- Now click on "Set Cards Control/Usage Limits" and select your credit card from the list.
- Now you can check your current Daily Domestic Usage/Limits and Daily International Usage/Limits for all transactions.
- Both categories have the alternative for Online Usage/International Usage/Contactless Usage.
- Now toggle the 'On' switch for the chosen functionality or all of the aforementioned. At the bottom of the page, click on "Continue"
- Now click on "Continue" on the review page and you will now get a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the received OTP in the required section and you are done.
Steps to enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card via WhatsApp banking
- First, you need to save HDFC Bank's Official WhatsApp number +91 70659 70659 to your contacts on your mobile phone.
- Or you can visit https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=917065970659&text=Hi and click on "CONTINUE TO CHAT"
- Now type "Manage my Credit Card" and send it to the above-said number.
- You will now get a response and please choose one of the alternatives to proceed.
- You will now get a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and verify the last 4 digits of your Credit Card number and proceed.
- Your current status for Online/International/Contactless transactions will be displayed as 'Disabled' which you can enable on the same page.
Steps to enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Credit Card via EVA
- Visit the official website of the bank and head to the HDFC Bank's Digital Assistant, EVA tab that will appear on the right side of the page.
- Now click on "Manage my Credit Card" and select any one of the following options Online Usage - International Transactions - Contactless transactions.
- Now enter your registered 10-digit mobile number and you will receive an OTP.
- Enter the OTP and confirm the last 4 digits of your Credit Card number.
- Your current status for Online/International/Contactless transactions will be displayed as 'Disabled' which you can enable on the same page.
Steps to enable online transactions on your HDFC Bank Debit Card via net banking
- Visit the net banking portal of the bank and enter your Customer ID/ User ID and password.
- Click on the "Cards" tab on the top section of the page.
- Now click on "Request" on the left side of the page.
- Now click on "Set Cards Control/Usage Limits" and select your debit card from the list.
- Now you can view your current Daily Domestic Usage/Limits and Daily International Usage/Limits for all transactions.
- Now you can select Online Usage/International Usage/Contactless Usage for both categories.
- Then enable the chosen functionality or all of the aforementioned and at the bottom of the page, click 'Continue'.
- Now click on "Continue" on the review page and you will now get a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and click on "Continue" to proceed further.
