The Election Commission of India (ECI) has begun a campaign to link voter identity cards and Aadhaar cards. The purpose of linking the two identification cards is to validate electoral roll entries, authenticate voter identities, and determine whether someone is registered in the same constituency more than once or in multiple constituencies. It will help to track and deactivate fraudulent and bogus voter ID cards. Step 1: Download the Voter Helpline App.
Step 2: Open the app and select the 'I Agree' option before pressing the 'Next' button.
Step 3: Select 'Voter Registration'
Step 4: By clicking on it, you can access the Electoral Authentication Form (Form 6B).
Step 5: Select 'Let's Get Started.'
Step 6: Enter your official mobile number associated with your Aadhaar card and click Send OTP.
Step 7: Enter the OTP you received and press the 'Verify' button.
Step 8: Select Yes, I Have a Voter ID, and then select 'Next.'
Step 9: Enter your Voter ID number (EPIC), choose your state, and then click 'Fetch details.'
Step 10: Select 'Proceed.'
Step 11: Enter your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, and authentication location, then click 'Done.'
Step 12: The Form 6B preview page will appear. To submit your Form 6B, double-check your information and click 'Confirm.'
Via National Voters Service Portal (NVSP)
Step 1: Log in to your NVSP account with your username and password, or register if this is your first visit.
Step 2: After logging in, select "Forms."
Step 3: Enter information such as your name, the name of your Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency, your EPIC number, your mobile number/email address, and so on.
Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar number to receive an OTP on your registered UIDAI mobile number and use it for Aadhaar authentication. If you do not have an Aadhaar number, you can still submit form-6B online along with the required enclosures/acceptable documents.
Step 5: You will be given an acknowledgement number that you can use to check the status of the Aadhaar-Voter ID linking.
Through SMS
- Sending an SMS from your registered mobile number to 166 or 51969.
- The message should be formatted as ECILINK< SPACE>
Through Phone
The Indian government has established numerous call centres across the country. To link the Voter ID to Aadhaar, voters must dial 1950 and provide their voter ID details as well as their Aadhaar number.
