How To Link Pan With Aadhaar Through Income Tax E-filing Portal
Linking the Pan Card with the Aadhaar card is quite important because it reflects the transparency of your financial transactions and income tax returns. Now you can link Pan Card with the Aadhaar card through the Income Tax E-filing Portal, online, easily. In this portal, the 'Link Aadhaar' service is available to individual taxpayers (both registered and unregistered on e-Filing) who have a valid PAN and Aadhaar number.

One should have a valid PAN Card, a valid Aadhaar number, and a valid mobile number to link Pan Card with the Aadhaar card through the Income Tax E-filing Portal.
Steps to follow
Pre-log-in: On the e-Filing portal homepage, and click on the 'Link Aadhaar' option, and the Link Aadhaar page, enter the valid PAN, Aadhaar Number, and Name as per the Aadhaar and valid Mobile Number. You will get a 6-digit OTP on the registered mobile number. To proceed, on the Verification page, enter the Mobile OTP and click on the 'Validate' window. However, in the case of the post-log-in service, one does not need to go through this step.
Post-log-in: On the Dashboard, under the Link Aadhaar to PAN option, click on the 'Link Aadhaar' window. One can also access this service from My Profile > Link Aadhaar. On the Link Aadhaar page, you will have to enter your Name, Date of birth (DOB), and gender as per the PAN will be pre-filled and it is non-editable. Then, put your Aadhaar Number and Name as per the valid Aadhaar. In case, you have only the year of birth on your Aadhaar card, click, then you will have to click on the 'I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card' option. However, it is mandatory to choose the 'I agree to validate my Aadhaar details' option to proceed with the Link Aadhaar procedure.
Through the e-filing portal, now e-services were made easy for the citizens. One can Link Aadhaar with PAN on the e-Filing portal, Pre-login on the e-Filing homepage (for both registered and unregistered users), Post-login to the e-Filing portal (for registered users), and View the 'Link Aadhaar' status from the e-Filing homepage, on the Income Tax portal.
