How to Pay Advance Tax in India?

Those who have sources of income other than their wage must pay advance tax. This applies to rent, capital gains from stocks, fixed deposits, lottery prizes, and so forth. Advance tax is to be paid based on the year's expected revenue. Only when a person's total tax burden exceeds Rs 10,000 in a fiscal year is an advance tax payment required. Typically, you are expected to generate the money first and then pay the taxes on it. In the event of advance tax, an assessee must estimate his income for the year and pay the taxes in full or in part in advance.

What is Advance Tax?

Advance tax is income tax paid during the fiscal year rather than at the end. Because it is paid in installments throughout the fiscal year, the tax regulations stipulate when this must be paid throughout the year.

Benefits

  • When taxpayers pay their taxes in advance, they are less likely to run out of money or make last-minute tax payments.
  • It expedites the collecting of taxes.
  • It raises government finances since the government may receive interest on the money collected.
  • Those who pay their taxes in advance avoid falling behind on their obligations.
  • It assists organisations in effectively managing their finances and offers an estimate of the money received throughout the fiscal year.
