How To Reprint Aadhaar If You Lose It And Mobile Number Not Registered?

UIDAI-issued Aadhar has now become a go-to ID for a host of purposes and if you happen to lose it and your mobile number is not registered in it, you can still get it reprinted. However, remember, that the new number you provide shall not be registered in your aadhaar. On its twitter handle, UIDAI said, "You can order an Aadhaar reprint if your mobile number is not registered in Aadhaar. However, using this service does not mean that the new mobile number you give will get registered in your Aadhaar."

Steps To Get The Reprint Of Aadhaar In Case Aadhaar Is Lost And Mobile Number Is Not Linked Or Registered In It

STEP 1:

You need to visit the aadhaar portal

Click on the link saying 'Order Aadhaar Reprint' under the Get Aadhaar option

You now have the option to enter UID or aadhaar number, EID or enrollment ID or 16 digit virtual ID number

Then for validation you need to enter the given security code which is an alpha-numeric combination. Here you need check in the column saying mobile number not registered

Herein for the OTP, user is asked of a mobile number on which he or she wishes to receive the OTP or one-time password

STEP 6:

Then after the OTP is sent, you will receive a message on the screen saying OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Check your mobile.

STEP 7:

At this stage, enter the OTP received and also check the checkbox for terms and conditions.

STEP 8:

Now a new page will open, where two options appearing side by side come. The first one saying
- Verify your aadhaar details
- Preview aadhaar letter: Herein note that this option is not available to users whose mobile number is not registered with the UIDAI.

STEP 9:

Now this reprinting of aadhaar comes at a cost and you are charged Rs. 50 (inclusive of speed post and GST) for the transaction, for which you have to select the payment mode. And for each such transaction, there is earmarked a transaction ID.
For the payment, the available modes are net-banking, UPI, cards (debit or credit card).

STEP 10:

Download and save the acknowledgement slip with your SRN.

STEP 11:

After the payment is made successfully, your aadhaar card will be reprinted and sent via speed post within a matter of a fortnight.
