The National Pension Scheme (NPS) is a government scheme that helps you to mobilize your earnings in order to receive a regular income as a pension after you retire. On June 1, 2009, the central government launched the scheme under the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority. Employees in the private and public sectors, as well as those in the unorganized sector, are eligible to participate in the NPS scheme. Employees must be Indian residents or non-residents, and they must be between the ages of 18 and 65. NPS gives you the freedom to create your own portfolio based on your preferences or risk tolerance. The IPIN (Internet Personal Identification Number) is the subscriber's unique password for accessing their respective NPS accounts.
